Unrecognized/Suspensed/Closed OrganizationsĪn “unrecognized” fraternity or sorority is one which chooses to exist “off campus” and does not follow college policies and regulations. The council consists of over 900 sorority women and is responsible for promoting positive relations between sororities, coordinating council-wide activities, Primary Spring Recruitment, and informal recruitment. The College Panhellenic (CPH) at Temple University is the governing board for Temple's six National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) chapters. NPHC organizations are committed to serving the surrounding community, and support academic excellence by providing scholarships, study breaks, and other educational programs. Temple University currently has eight of the nine organizations. NPHC is the governing council for the nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations, often referred to as the Divine Nine. Psi Sigma Phi Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. Asian, South-Asian, Latinx, and Multicultural sororities and fraternities work together in the MGC to further cultural diversity, to serve the university and surrounding communities and to provide support to members as they work toward graduation. The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) serves as the governing body for culturally-based sororities and fraternities at Temple University. OrganizationĪctive (Social Probation through December 2023) The council consists of over 500 fraternity men and is designed to coordinate recruitment activities, motivate academic achievement, and promote a set of standards for its member organizations. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Temple University is the governing board for several of Temple's social men's Greek-letter organizations. Each belongs to an umbrella council (CPH, IFC, MGC, NPHC). The initiation and reception followed on July 29. Installation weekend began with Court of Ivy on July 28, with ceremony assistance by members of Eta Lambda of George Mason University. Theta Phi was proud to number 50 collegiate members, six mothers and one daughter of an Alpha Phi alumnae as charter members of Theta Phi. Student Life Student groups/activities include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Alpha Phi joined Gamma Phi Beta and Phi Mu. Christopher Newport was recognized as one of the fastest growing colleges in the state of Virginia, and Alpha Phi was delighted to be represented on the campus. The summer of 1995, Theta Phi joined a proud Virginia membership, which included six active collegiate chapters.
